SRINAGAR: Pakistani Army posts opened unprovoked fire at multiple locations along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir during the intervening night of April 25 and 26, officials said on Saturday.

Indian troops responded with appropriate small arms fire to silence the provocation, they added.

The exchange remained limited in scale, and no casualties were reported on the Indian side.

Officials termed the incident an attempt to disrupt peace along the border, adding that the situation is being closely monitored by Indian forces deployed across all forward areas.
