Srinagar, Oct 22: Dozens of workers from the National Conference (NC), Awami Ittehad Party (AIP), and People’s Conference (PC) from Langate constituency in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district joined the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday.
The new entrants were welcomed into the party fold by PDP President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti at the party headquarters in Srinagar.
Speaking on the occasion, Mehbooba Mufti expressed happiness over the growing support for the PDP and said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir were reposing their faith in the party’s vision and political agenda. She emphasized the need for collective efforts to safeguard the rights and identity of the people of the region.
The joining ceremony was also attended by several senior PDP leaders, who hailed the decision of the new members and said their inclusion would strengthen the party’s base in Kupwara district, particularly in the Langate constituency.
The new entrants pledged to work under the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti and contribute to the party’s mission of peace, development, and dignity for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
