Kathua, Aug 29: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Friday visited Kathua district to take stock of the Sahar Khad bridge on the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway, which suffered damage in the recent floods.

During the inspection, Choudhary expressed concern over the lapses in maintenance and preparedness by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). He reprimanded the officials present on the spot and directed them to ensure immediate repair and restoration work to prevent disruption in traffic movement.

The Deputy CM also stressed the importance of timely intervention, noting that the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway is a vital connectivity route for the region. He assured that the government would monitor the repair work closely to avoid further inconvenience to commuters.
