Jammu: Congress Protests Over Statehood, MGNREGA IssuesThe Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Sunday held a protest rally in Jammu, demanding the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and raising concerns over issues related to MGNREGA.

Led by senior Congress leaders and party workers, the rally echoed slogans such as “Our State, Our Right” and concluded with the submission of a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner Jammu, urging the Centre to fulfil long-pending political and developmental commitments.

Addressing the gathering, JKPCC president Tariq Karra questioned the Centre’s continued control over the law and order portfolio despite claims of normalcy in the region. He said that if peace has truly returned, there is no justification for delaying full statehood even after six years.
