Srinagar, Oct 3: Chief Minister today chaired a high-level meeting to review the State’s readiness in view of the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) forecast of heavy rain and snowfall from October 5 to 7.The Chief Minister directed all departments to remain on high alert to ensure the safety of people, crops, and public infrastructure. He stressed on coordinated action among departments to keep essential services functional and maintain road connectivity during the spell of inclement weather.Special instructions were issued for timely advisories to farmers and orchardists, along with swift restoration of power supply, drinking water, and road links in case of disruptions.Appealing to the public, the Chief Minister urged people to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary travel to higher reaches, and strictly follow government advisories for their own safety.
