Baramulla, Oct 15: Giving a significant push to urban infrastructure and the power sector, the Chief Minister on Wednesday e-inaugurated several development projects worth ₹5.24 crore in Baramulla district.
Among the key projects inaugurated were the development of a footpath on both sides of the National Highway from the Post Office up to Carriapa Park, aimed at improving pedestrian safety and enhancing the town’s civic amenities.
In the power sector, the Chief Minister inaugurated the 1×6.3 MVA Receiving Station at Kalantra and the 33/11 KV 1×10 MVA Receiving Station at Bharahampora, Rafiabad, which are expected to strengthen the local power infrastructure and ensure better electricity supply to the adjoining areas.
Officials said these projects will play a vital role in improving public convenience and boosting development in the district. They added that the new receiving stations would help minimize power outages and meet the growing electricity demand in both rural and urban pockets of Baramulla.
Local residents and public representatives hailed the government’s efforts, expressing hope that the newly inaugurated projects would contribute to the district’s overall progress and quality of life.
