Srinagar, Sept 11: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, today conducted a branch-wise review of the performance of banks under various credit-linked government schemes.

During the meeting, the DC emphasized the need for expeditious sanctioning of eligible cases, stressing that timely disposal is crucial for extending benefits to the intended beneficiaries.

He urged the banking fraternity to play a proactive role in facilitating the common public, ensuring that individuals and entrepreneurs are able to access financial assistance without unnecessary delays.

The review also focused on the progress of key government-sponsored schemes aimed at employment generation, self-reliance, and financial inclusion. The DC asked banks to adopt a people-friendly approach and strengthen their coordination with line departments to maximize the impact of these initiatives.
