SRINAGAR, Sept 3: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir on Wednesday ordered closure of all schools and colleges across the Valley due to continuous heavy rainfall.The decision was taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students and staff, officials said.Rainfall over the past several hours has raised water levels in the Jhelum, while parts of Jammu have already been declared flood-hit after crossing the danger mark. Authorities have warned of possible waterlogging and landslides in vulnerable areas, with forecasts predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall.
