SRINAGAR: Key water bodies in Kashmir, including Sheshnag, Lidder, and Vishow Nallah, crossed danger or flood declaration levels early Wednesday, triggering heightened alerts. Aru Nallah was also reported likely flowing above the flood declaration mark.At 5 am, Sheshnag Nallah touched 6.36 ft, surpassing both its flood declaration (4.59 ft) and danger level (5.09 ft). Lidder Nallah recorded 1.67 m, crossing its flood declaration (1.5 m) and breaching the danger mark (1.65 m).In Kulgam, Vishow Nallah reached 8.24 m, above the 7.75 m declaration mark and approaching the 8.50 m danger level. Aru Nallah’s level was expected to exceed 4.59 ft, though official figures were awaited.
According to Kashmir Weather, Jhelum at Sangam and Ram Munshi Bagh may also cross flood declaration levels and possibly breach danger marks today. Authorities are monitoring the situation and have urged residents in vulnerable areas to stay alert.
