PM Modi, President Putin Discuss Ukraine Crisis, Bilateral Ties

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and review progress in bilateral relations.

According to official sources, President Putin briefed PM Modi on the latest developments regarding Ukraine. Thanking him for the update, PM Modi reiterated India’s consistent position advocating a peaceful resolution of the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy.

The two leaders also reviewed the progress of the India-Russia Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening cooperation in various sectors. PM Modi extended an invitation to President Putin to visit India later this year for the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit.

Both leaders agreed to maintain close contact and deepen cooperation on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
