Tamil Nadu, April 27 – In a significant address on the theme of agricultural education, innovation, and entrepreneurship, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar emphasized the pivotal role of agriculture in shaping India’s future as a “Viksit Bharat” (developed India). Speaking to a distinguished audience of faculty and students, Dhankhar underscored that India’s global standing would be largely determined by the scale and quality of its research, especially in the agricultural sector.
“The path to a Viksit Bharat runs through our farmlands,” Dhankhar remarked, highlighting the need for focused efforts in fostering agricultural education, research, and entrepreneurial ventures. He further stated that the theme of agricultural innovation could not be more timely and appropriate, given the current global challenges and India’s aspirations for development.
The Vice President pointed out that agricultural research and innovation are essential not only for boosting the country’s productivity but also for addressing the challenges posed by climate change, food security, and sustainable farming practices. He stressed that India must position itself as a leader in global research to enhance its competitive edge in the international arena.
