Srinagar, Aug 1 – The Jammu and Kashmir Law Department has launched a first-of-its-kind “Citizen Centric Services” initiative, featuring a mobile app and helpline to enhance public access to legal resources.
The platform offers free legal aid, access to Central and UT laws, case status updates, landmark judgments, and information on document registration, welfare schemes, and law education. It also includes an AI-powered chatbot for legal queries and a real-time grievance redressal system.
Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo hailed the initiative as a milestone in public service delivery and a potential model for the rest of the country. The app aims to make legal support more inclusive, especially in remote areas.
