Srinagar, August 1: The Amarnath Yatra on the Baltal axis has been suspended for August 3 in view of heavy rains and ongoing repair works along the route, officials said on Friday.
Authorities are monitoring the weather situation closely and are working round the clock to make the route safe for resumption of the pilgrimage.
Despite intermittent disruptions due to weather, over 4.05 lakh pilgrims have so far paid obeisance at the Holy Cave this year, marking a significant turnout for the annual pilgrimage.
