Srinagar, July 27 — Chief Justice of India, Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai, inaugurated the Kashmir University Mega Alumni Meet-2025 on Sunday by lighting the ceremonial lamp, marking the commencement of the much-anticipated event.
The ceremony was graced by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who also serves as the Chancellor of the University. Their presence added significance to the gathering, which brought together a host of distinguished alumni from various fields.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nilofer Khan described the event as both a celebration and a reflection of the University’s rich academic legacy.
“This Mega Alumni Meet is a historic step in reconnecting with our extended university family,” she said. “Our alumni have made remarkable contributions across sectors, and their presence will inspire our students and strengthen the University’s future directions.”
Prof. Khan emphasized that the alumni meet is also an opportunity for former students to witness the university’s growth in academics, infrastructure, and vision.
“Their feedback, memories, and aspirations matter deeply to us,” she added.
The event featured interactive sessions, cultural performances, and showcases of the university’s achievements and future plans, aimed at fostering deeper engagement between the institution and its alumni community.
