Srinagar, July 13: PDP leader Iltija Mufti criticised the National Conference (NC) government for what she called its failure to observe Martyrs’ Day on July 13 properly. In a video statement, she said the gates of the martyrs’ mausoleum were locked and access was restricted, despite earlier promises by NC leaders.

She recalled NC leader Omar Abdullah’s past pledge to commemorate the day if the party returned to power fully, but noted he was in Delhi instead of Srinagar. Mufti accused the NC of failing to deliver on its commitments and not representing public concerns in either the assembly or parliament, despite having significant political strength.
