Srinagar, June 28: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo reviewed the ongoing progress of land records digitization in Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing the importance of error-free data entry, comprehensive staff training, and the establishment of dedicated data centres at the district level.

During the review meeting, Dulloo underscored the transformative potential of accurate and digitized land records in minimizing disputes, streamlining administrative processes, and enhancing public service delivery. He called for a meticulous approach to ensure the integrity of data being uploaded.

As part of the initiative, over 5.2 lakh Unique Land Parcel Identification Numbers (ULPINs) have already been generated across the Union Territory, while more than 6,200 cadastral maps have been successfully geo-referenced.

Officials noted that Jammu and Kashmir is steadily progressing toward a transparent, efficient, and technology-driven land administration system, aligning with broader goals of digital governance and public sector reform.
