Srinagar, June 21:
In preparation for the upcoming Muharram observances, Minister Javed Rana on Saturday conducted an extensive review of arrangements in the Zadibal area of Srinagar, known for its significant religious gatherings during the holy month. He was accompanied by Legislator Tanvir Sadiq during the visit.
The Minister toured several prominent Imambaras in the locality, where he interacted with caretakers, organisers, and devotees to assess on-ground preparations and listen to their concerns. He also inspected facilities being put in place to accommodate mourners and facilitate smooth conduct of religious events.
While taking stock of the arrangements, the Minister directed the concerned authorities to ensure the availability of essential services including uninterrupted power and water supply, sanitation, medical aid, and traffic management. He stressed the need to maintain a peaceful and serene atmosphere throughout the observances.
Reiterating the Government’s commitment to communal harmony, Minister Rana emphasized the importance of unity, peace, and mutual respect among all communities during Muharram.
Local organisers and residents appreciated the Minister’s outreach and urged continued administrative support to ensure a dignified and respectful environment for religious gatherings.
