May 22: A gunfight broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Chhatru area of Kishtwar district on Thursday morning, the Army said.

In a statement posted on X, the Army’s White Knight Corps confirmed that contact was established with terrorists during a joint counter-insurgency operation in the region.

The ongoing operation, codenamed Operation Trashi, is being conducted jointly by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

“Additional troops have been inducted, and the operation is underway to neutralise the hiding terrorists,” the White Knight Corps said.
