New Delhi:Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday raised serious concerns over Pakistan’s ability to responsibly manage its nuclear arsenal, just days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi warned against succumbing to “nuclear blackmail” from Islamabad.Speaking in Srinagar, Singh questioned the credibility of Pakistan as a nuclear-armed state and called for international oversight of its nuclear weapons.
“The world knows the precision of our armed forces—we strike with accuracy and let the results speak for themselves,” Singh said. “India’s firm stance against terrorism is evident. We did not yield to Pakistan’s threats or its nuclear posturing.”Condemning what he described as Pakistan’s reckless behavior, the Defence Minister stated, “The world has witnessed how irresponsibly Pakistan has issued nuclear threats. From the soil of Srinagar, I ask: can such a rogue and irresponsible nation be trusted with nuclear weapons?”
He further urged the global community to step in, saying, “I firmly believe that Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal should be placed under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)
