Srinagar, May 15:Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday declared that any terror attack on Indian soil will now be considered an act of war, marking a significant escalation in India’s counter-terrorism stance. He made the remarks while addressing personnel at the Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar.Singh credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for strengthening India’s national security policy, stating that the country will no longer tolerate cross-border terrorism. Citing Operation Sindoor as the largest anti-terror operation in India’s history, he said the mission demonstrated the nation’s firm resolve to eliminate terrorism at its roots.
Referring to the recent terror incident in Pahalgam, the Defence Minister confirmed that the attack had been avenged through precision strikes on both terrorist hideouts and Pakistani military positions.Singh also expressed serious concerns about the security of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal, urging the international community to ensure adequate safeguards and oversight.Reaffirming India’s long-standing position, he said that terrorism and dialogue cannot go together, adding that the armed forces will continue to respond with both strength and restraint.
