New Delhi, May 8:
The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Abbas Araghchi, at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday.
During the meeting, President Murmu welcomed Dr. Araghchi and highlighted the longstanding civilisational and cultural ties between India and Iran, which span thousands of years. She noted that the visit marks a significant occasion—the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The visit is seen as a reaffirmation of the historical partnership and continued cooperation between India and Iran in various sectors, including trade, culture, and regional affairs.
Dr. Araghchi’s visit comes at a time when both nations are exploring ways to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance collaboration on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
