In a firm response to the deadly Pahalgam attack, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Wednesday emphasized the need for a global stand against terrorism. Reacting to Operation Sindoor, Jaishankar tweeted, “The world must show zero tolerance for terrorism,” alongside an image related to the operation.

The statement came hours after India launched precision strikes on nine terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). These camps were reportedly affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), and Hizbul Mujahideen.

The tri-services operation was carried out in the early hours of Wednesday and was described by the Indian government as “focused, measured, and non-escalatory in nature.” A government announcement made at 2 AM confirmed the strikes, framing them as a direct response to the brutal attack in Pahalgam, where terrorists killed 26 civilians.

According to top security sources quoted by India Today, over 80 terrorists were eliminated in the strikes. Unverified video clips circulating online show massive explosions and thick plumes of smoke rising in PoK, with bystanders watching the aftermath.

India’s response signals a sharpened counter-terrorism posture and calls renewed international attention to the need for collective action against state-supported terrorism.
