Ramban, May 2, 2025:
In a bid to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and foster a drug-free society, an Anti-Drug Pledge and Awareness event was held today at PM SHRI GHSS Tethar under the drive initiated by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ramban, Shri Baseer Ul Haq, IAS. The event aimed to engage students and the local community in the fight against substance abuse, promoting healthy and drug-free lifestyles.

The initiative is part of a larger awareness campaign led by the district administration to curb the rising menace of drug addiction among youth in the region. Speaking at the event, Shri Baseer Ul Haq emphasized the importance of education in shaping the future of young minds and encouraged students to take a stand against drug abuse. He also urged parents, educators, and local communities to join forces in this vital cause to create a safer and healthier environment for everyone.

The students actively participated in the pledge, vowing to stay away from drugs and to spread the message of a drug-free life. The awareness program also included interactive sessions, presentations, and distribution of informational materials to help students better understand the harmful effects of drug abuse on both physical and mental health.

Local leaders, educators, and social activists also attended the event, offering their support and reiterating the collective responsibility of the community in combating the drug crisis.

The DC’s drive has received widespread praise for its proactive approach in tackling this growing issue. With continued efforts and community involvement, the district aims to make significant strides towards a drug-free future.
