Speaking at the annual conference of Vice Chancellors from state, central, and private universities in Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar emphasized the need to nurture India’s education system while drawing inspiration from its rich historical legacy.

He highlighted the importance of the gurukul concept, describing it as “sublime” and reflective of India’s deep-rooted traditions in education. According to Dhankhar, the gurukul system was unique in offering free access to education for those eager to learn, and the guru took all students under his guidance as part of his family.
