New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday hailed 2025 as a year of “proud milestones” for India, highlighting achievements across national security, space science, sports and cultural heritage in the final episode of Mann Ki Baat of the year.

Addressing the nation in the 129th episode, the Prime Minister said India’s growing impact was “visible everywhere,” asserting that the country does not compromise on its security. He cited Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, under which Indian forces destroyed nine major terror launchpads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, eliminating over 100 terrorists linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen.

PM Modi also lauded India’s progress in space exploration, noting that Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla became the first Indian in 41 years to travel to space and the first to reach the International Space Station as part of NASA’s Axiom-4 mission.

Highlighting cultural unity, the Prime Minister referred to nationwide participation in celebrations marking the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram, driven by the #VandeMataram150 campaign.

In sports, PM Modi praised a landmark year, citing the Indian men’s cricket team’s ICC Champions Trophy victory and the women’s team’s maiden World Cup triumph on home soil. He also applauded the women’s blind cricket team’s T20 World Cup win, India’s Asia Cup T20 title, and the success of para-athletes at global championships.

Calling 2025 a defining year, the Prime Minister said these achievements reflected India’s determination, unity and rising stature on the global stage.
