SRINAGAR: Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, arrived in Srinagar on Friday to meet with survivors of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.
The Congress leader is expected to visit the Army’s Base Hospital at Badamibagh Cantonment, where several of the injured are being treated. The attack, which occurred on April 22, left 26 people dead—most of them tourists.
During his visit, Gandhi will also engage with various stakeholders, including party leaders and representatives from Kashmir’s trade and tourism industries, to assess the situation on the ground.
In addition to these interactions, Gandhi is slated to hold separate meetings with Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to discuss the region’s security challenges and the aftermath of the attack.
