April 24: In response to distress calls from residents of Jammu and Kashmir in Maharashtra, senior officials from the Union Territory held a high-level meeting with Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday.Acting on the directions of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of J&K, Deputy CM Surinder Choudhary and Advisor to the CM, Nasir Sogami, met Shinde to discuss the concerns raised by people from the region. The meeting was prompted by reports of anxiety and difficulties faced by some J&K residents currently in Maharashtra.Deputy CM Shinde assured full cooperation, including the establishment of a dedicated helpline and appointment of a nodal officer to address the issues. “We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of every citizen, and we will extend all necessary assistance,” Shinde reportedly said during the meeting. The J&K National Conference (JKNC) shared details of the meeting on social media, stating that the Maharashtra government also promised full support to tourists from Maharashtra currently in Jammu and Kashmir. The development comes amid heightened tensions following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, which has raised security concerns across regions.Let me know if you’d like to add quotes or official responses from either side.
