April 24: Tensions flared in the national capital on Monday as Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva was detained by the police while leading a protest outside the Pakistan High Commission at Shantipath. The protest was organized in response to the terror attack that occurred earlier in the day in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.Sachdeva, accompanied by several BJP workers, gathered near the diplomatic enclave to denounce Pakistan’s alleged role in supporting terrorism in the Valley. Protesters raised slogans condemning the Pahalgam attack and demanded strict action against those responsible.Police officials, citing security concerns in the high-security area, swiftly intervened and removed the protestors from the scene. Sachdeva and others were escorted away from the area to prevent any escalation.“We will not remain silent while our soldiers and civilians are targeted by Pakistan-backed terrorists,” Sachdeva reportedly said before being detained.The protest followed shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the Pahalgam attack. The Prime Minister directed Shah to take all necessary measures and to visit the site of the incident.The BJP has intensified its demand for a strong response to the attack, while security forces remain on high alert in Jammu and Kashmir.
