Ganderbal, April 18: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday commended the Jammu and Kashmir Police for their exceptional professionalism, stating that the force is widely respected across the country for its unwavering dedication and bravery.

Speaking at the passing-out ceremony of the 16th batch of the Basic Recruit Training Course (BRTC) at the Police Training School (PTS) in Manigam, Ganderbal, LG Sinha praised the efforts and sacrifices of the police force in maintaining peace and safeguarding lives.

“The entire nation acknowledges the immense sacrifices made by the J&K Police. People are able to live and work in peace because they trust the Police to stand guard against threats to their safety,” the LG said. “The courage and commitment shown by the force instills confidence among citizens that Jammu and Kashmir is secure.”

A total of 438 recruits, including 86 women, successfully completed their intensive training on the occasion. Among them, 211 had previously served as Special Police Officers (SPOs).

LG Sinha paid heartfelt tributes to the valour of the police personnel and urged the new recruits to perform their duties with dedication, integrity, and a deep sense of responsibility. He stressed the united resolve of the J&K Police, Army, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) to eliminate terrorism from the region.

“Significant progress has been made in curbing terrorism in the Kashmir valley. However, the recent rise in such incidents in the Jammu region is concerning. We are determined to rid both regions of terrorism,” he said.

The Lieutenant Governor also emphasised the importance of embracing technological advancements in policing. He encouraged the force to incorporate modern tools and adopt a data-driven approach to enhance crime detection, analyse trends, and strengthen investigation methods.

“Policing must evolve with time. By using data-centric strategies and state-of-the-art technology, we can stay ahead of emerging threats such as organised crime and terrorism,” he added.

Extending his best wishes to the new graduates, LG Sinha expressed confidence that the values, training, and discipline they have gained at PTS Manigam would prepare them to serve the nation with honour and face future challenges with resilience.
