Srinagar/Udhampur, May 15: Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Health, Education, Social Welfare and Higher Education, Sakina Itoo on Friday visited SKIMS Medical College Bemina to review the healthcare and academic facilities at the institution.
During her visit, the Minister interacted with doctors, faculty members, students and hospital staff, reiterating the government’s commitment towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure and improving medical education across Jammu and Kashmir.
She assessed the functioning of various departments and emphasized the need for quality patient care, better medical services and enhanced educational standards in healthcare institutions. The Minister also appreciated the efforts of the faculty and medical staff in delivering healthcare services to the people.
Later, Sakina Itoo inaugurated Government Degree College Majalata in Udhampur.
The inauguration marks a significant step towards strengthening higher education infrastructure in the region and providing improved academic opportunities to the youth. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the institution will play a vital role in empowering students through quality education and opening new avenues for growth and development.
She further stated that the government remains committed to expanding educational facilities and ensuring accessible and inclusive education for students across Jammu and Kashmir.
