Anantnag, May 16: In a major crackdown against drug trafficking, Anantnag Police arrested four alleged drug peddlers, including a notorious heroin supplier from Srinagar, during two separate operations carried out in the Sangam area of South Kashmir.
According to police officials, the arrested individuals include Sahil Ahmad, alias “Doggy,” a resident of Srinagar who is reportedly known for supplying heroin in different parts of the Valley. The other accused were also apprehended during coordinated naka and search operations conducted by police teams in the area.
During the operations, police recovered quantities of heroin and brown sugar from the possession of the accused. The seized narcotic substances were taken into custody and sent for further legal and forensic procedures.
Police said that separate FIRs under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act have been registered, and investigations have been initiated to trace forward and backward links connected to the drug network.
