Srinagar, May 15: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Friday chaired a high-level consultation with key stakeholders to formulate a comprehensive strategy aimed at accelerating the economic growth of Jammu and Kashmir by strengthening core sectors such as tourism, agriculture, handicrafts and industry.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary reviewed ongoing initiatives across various sectors and underscored the importance of convergence among departments and institutions to maximize their collective impact on the region’s economy.
He observed that several developmental programmes and sector-specific interventions are already being implemented, but stressed that greater coordination and integration are essential to ensure sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
Emphasizing the need for a unified approach, Dulloo said the government is focusing on creating a single integrated ecosystem that takes into account the strengths, opportunities and challenges of all sectors. He noted that such a convergence-based framework would help support economic verticals in a more coordinated and effective manner.
The discussions also focused on identifying measures to enhance productivity, promote investment, generate employment opportunities and improve market linkages for local products and services.
Officials and stakeholders from multiple sectors participated in the deliberations and shared suggestions for strengthening inter-sectoral collaboration and unlocking the economic potential of Jammu and Kashmir.
