Srinagar: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Saturday forecasted light snowfall at scattered places across Jammu and Kashmir during January 19 and 20, bringing a brief spell of winter precipitation to the region.
According to the advisory, weather conditions are expected to remain largely stable until the evening of January 22, after which cloud cover will increase across the Union Territory. From January 22 to 24, light to moderate rain and snowfall is likely at most places.
The weather department has also warned of the possibility of heavy rain or snowfall over a few districts of the Pir Panjal range, Chenab Valley, and South Kashmir during January 23 and 24.
Authorities have advised residents, travellers, and commuters to remain cautious, particularly in higher reaches and mountainous areas, as snowfall may affect road connectivity and daily activities.
