Awantipora, Nov 9: Police in Awantipora arrested a woman after recovering 421 grams of charas from her possession during a naka checking at Padgampora.
A police spokesperson said the woman, identified as Rubeena, wife of Ashiq Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Zahidpora Hawal, Srinagar, was found moving suspiciously and attempted to flee but was apprehended.
During her personal search, police recovered ten sticks of a charas-like substance weighing 421 grams. The contraband was seized on the spot, and the accused was taken into custody.
A case under FIR No. 245/2025 has been registered at Police Station Awantipora under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway.
