Jammu, : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today laid the foundation stone for the construction of 350 residential houses in Jammu district for families whose homes were destroyed during natural calamities and Operation Sindoor.

The upcoming three-bedroom houses are designed to be modern, resilient, and technologically advanced. They are being constructed free of cost with support from HRDS-India, a non-governmental organization working on rehabilitation and rural development.

Speaking on the occasion, LG Sinha said the administration is committed to transforming the lives of economically weaker sections. In a post on X, he stated, “I’m committed to bring a monumental change in the lives of poor. In past 5 yrs lakhs of poor have benefitted & infrastructure in backward & poor regions were upgraded. Jammu’s rapid development is unprecedented & we’ve achieved strong growth trajectory despite numerous challenges.”

Officials said the project is expected to provide dignified housing to affected families and contribute to the region’s broader development initiatives.

The LG also reiterated that the government’s efforts will continue to focus on inclusive growth, ensuring that marginalized communities are not left behind.
