Srinagar, J&K:
In a renewed push to strengthen transparency, accountability, and security across health-related establishments, Srinagar Police on [insert day if needed] conducted surprise inspections of medical shops, chemists, and pharmacies in various parts of the city.

The citywide exercise aimed to curb the misuse of medical outlets for unauthorized storage of illegal or hazardous substances, prevent any facilitation of unlawful activities, and reinforce internal security measures within healthcare-linked institutions.

During the inspection drive, police teams thoroughly examined medicines, medical equipment, cash books, and other statutory records. Shop owners were reminded of the mandatory documentation protocols and essential safety guidelines they are required to follow.

Officials said the verification process focused on several key areas, including:

  • Proper maintenance of stock and sales registers
  • Identity verification procedures for buyers of sensitive medicines
  • Compliance with security-related advisories
  • Validity of licenses and adherence to regulatory norms

Police authorities briefed pharmacists and medical shop owners about the prevailing security scenario and urged them to remain alert, ensure full transparency in their operations, and immediately report any suspicious transaction or activity.

Srinagar Police stated that such inspections will continue as part of routine vigilance measures to ensure the safety and security of citizens. The department reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining public safety and upholding national security.
