Jammu, Nov 4: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and Member of Parliament Mian Altaf Ahmad on Tuesday urged the government to introduce job-oriented schemes for landowners and unemployed youth, stressing the need to make loan and permission procedures simpler and more accessible.

Addressing a gathering, Mian Altaf said that empowering young people through easy access to credit and technical support could open new avenues for self-employment and sustainable livelihoods in rural areas.

He emphasized that the youth should be encouraged to establish dairy, sheep, and horticulture units, which could not only generate income but also strengthen the local economy.

“Procedures for loans and permissions must be simplified so that young people can easily start dairy, sheep, or horticulture units. The government should create an enabling environment where our youth can earn with dignity instead of depending on government jobs,” Mian Altaf said.

He added that landowners and unemployed educated youth possess immense potential, and with proper policy support, they could play a vital role in boosting the region’s agricultural and allied sectors.
