May 1 — The Indian Army on Thursday accused Pakistani forces of initiating unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) during the night between April 30 and May 1 in several areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Army officials, Pakistani troops used small arms to target Indian positions in the Kupwara, Uri, and Akhnoor sectors.

“The firing was unprovoked. Our troops responded appropriately and in a calibrated manner,” an Army spokesperson said.

There have been no reports of casualties or major damage on the Indian side.
