SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary on Tuesday asserted that Jammu and Kashmir is effectively being run by “two governments”—one chosen by the people and another imposed upon them. He made the remarks while lashing out at the opposition for what he termed as “selective criticism” of the National Conference.
Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Choudhary accused the Leader of the Opposition of persistently targeting the National Conference despite having served as a minister during the BJP-PDP alliance. “He was a minister in the BJP-PDP government and did nothing for the people. Yet today, he spares no opportunity to blame the National Conference. This is nothing but hypocrisy,” Choudhary said.
The Deputy Chief Minister further stressed that his party should be allowed to govern independently to deliver on its commitments. “Give us a free hand and then see how we transform Jammu and Kashmir. We stand by our manifesto and will ensure every promise is fulfilled,” he added.
