Srinagar, Sept 16: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, on Tuesday said the administration is prioritizing the smooth evacuation of fruit-laden trucks from the valley while maintaining the flow of essential supplies. He said over 1,200 fruit trucks have been cleared since Monday through coordinated efforts of the BRO, traffic police, and district authorities, with Mughal Road and the National Highway being managed in a circular flow.Acknowledging growers’ hardships due to road closures, Garg assured that restoration work is underway and temporary relaxations in movement timings have been allowed to prevent losses.

“Our task is to balance essential commodities like oil, LPG, and perishables with timely transportation of fruits. With cooperation from growers and agencies, trucks are moving smoothly,” he said, adding that losses will be fairly assessed.
