NEW DELHI: (Jul 10) A Delhi court has rapped a police official for delaying a February 2020 riots’ case by not preparing copies to be supplied to the accused.
Additional sessions judge Parveen Singh on July 4 said the prosecution had filed a supplementary chargesheet, forensic science laboratory (FSL) report and a pen drive containing evidence against the accused persons.
“However, the investigating officer (IO) has not prepared the copies to be supplied to the accused. I must notice that IO did not appear before the court till 10.30 AM, and still when he appeared, he appeared without any copies for the accused. Conduct of the IO has resulted in delaying the matter (sic),” the court said.
