New Delhi, April 20 (ANI): United States Vice President JD Vance will undertake his first official visit to India from April 21 to 24, as part of a broader diplomatic tour that also includes Italy. Accompanied by the Second Family, Vice President Vance will visit New Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra during his stay.
According to India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Vice President Vance is expected to land at Palam Air Force Station in New Delhi at 10:00 am on Monday. Later that evening, he will hold a high-level meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 6:30 pm at the latter’s official residence, 7, Lok Kalyan Marg.
The Vice President will continue his visit with stops in Jaipur on Tuesday, April 22, and Agra on Wednesday, April 23. He is scheduled to depart India in the early hours of Thursday, April 24, at 6:40 am.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasized the importance of the visit, underscoring the strong bilateral relationship between India and the United States. “India and the US share a Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. When a high-level visit such as this takes place, discussions naturally encompass all matters of mutual interest,” Jaiswal said during a weekly media briefing.
He added that New Delhi is optimistic about the outcome of the visit, stating, “We are confident that this visit will further strengthen our bilateral ties and broaden areas of cooperation.”
A statement from the Office of the Vice President last week confirmed the visit, noting that Vice President Vance will engage with Indian leadership on shared economic and geopolitical priorities. The itinerary also includes visits to prominent cultural landmarks in all three cities.
