Budgam, Feb 12: Budgam Police successfully organized a Knock-out Football Tournament at the District Police Lines (DPL) Budgam under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2025–26, drawing enthusiastic participation from local youth and promoting sportsmanship, discipline, and positive community engagement.

The tournament witnessed spirited competition among participating teams, with young footballers displaying remarkable talent, teamwork, and dedication throughout the event. The initiative aimed to channel the energy of youth towards constructive activities while strengthening the bond between the police and the community.

In a thrilling final match, Rehbar 11 Budgam emerged victorious after defeating FYCO FC Ompora by a narrow margin of 1–0. The closely contested encounter kept spectators on the edge of their seats, with both teams demonstrating exceptional skill and determination. However, Rehbar 11 Budgam capitalized on a crucial opportunity to seal the title.

Senior police officials appreciated the players for their discipline and sportsmanlike conduct during the tournament. They reiterated Budgam Police’s commitment to organizing such events under CAP to encourage healthy competition and foster a spirit of unity and positivity among the youth.

The event concluded with the distribution of trophies and prizes to the winners and runners-up amid cheers from supporters and officials alike.
