Srinagar, Oct 10 : In a significant step toward modernising the implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department (RDPRD) is conducting a series of district-level workshops focused on IT integration and digital record management across the Union Territory.

The capacity-building workshops are designed to equip field functionaries and stakeholders with hands-on knowledge of advanced digital platforms, including Yuktdhara, NMMS, e-KYC, e-MB Module, SECURE 2.0, and Geo-fencing.

Workshops have already been successfully conducted in the districts of Anantnag-Kulgam, Shopian-Pulwama, Udhampur-Ramban, Doda-Kishtwar, Jammu-Reasi, Rajouri-Poonch, and Baramulla-Bandipora.

Speaking on the initiative, Additional Secretary Waseem Raja said, “The integration of cutting-edge technology in rural development ensures transparent, need-based, and efficient planning at the grassroots level. Platforms like Yuktdhara enable scientific, resource-aligned planning at the Gram Panchayat level, ensuring optimal utilization of resources.”

He further highlighted that the NMMS app facilitates real-time monitoring through digital attendance and e-KYC verification, while the e-MB module supports precise digital measurements and timely updates on field progress, thereby enhancing accountability and efficiency.

The workshops, designed to be interactive and practical, included live demonstrations of the digital tools. Participants—including Executive Engineers, Block Development Officers (BDOs), Assistant and Junior Engineers, Programme Officers (MGNREGA), Panchayat Secretaries, MIS Operators, Technical Assistants, and Gram Rozgar Sahayaks (GRS)—received hands-on training to strengthen their capacity for digital implementation and monitoring of MGNREGA works.

Similar workshops are planned in the coming days across Kathua, Samba, Kupwara, Srinagar, Ganderbal, and Budgam districts to ensure comprehensive coverage throughout the Union Territory.
