New Delhi (May 5): South African pacer Kagiso Rabada’s provisional ban for testing positive for a prohibited recreational drug has been lifted after he successfully completed a “substance abuse treatment program” during his suspension. This development makes him available for selection by his IPL franchise, Gujarat Titans.

In an official statement, the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS) confirmed that Rabada, who had already rejoined the Gujarat Titans following the completion of his suspension, is now free to take the field. The Titans are set to face Mumbai Indians in Mumbai on Tuesday, and Rabada’s availability boosts their bowling attack.

The 30-year-old was tested during the SA20 league in January, and the lifting of his suspension clears him to play in the upcoming World Test Championship final against Australia next month.
