New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday addressed the Lok Sabha with a detailed account of Operation Sindoor, India’s military response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which left 26 people dead earlier this year. The minister described the operation as a swift and strategic action against Pakistan-backed terrorist camps.

“Operation Sindoor is not over, only paused,” Singh asserted, cautioning that India will not hesitate to act again if provoked. He clarified that the operation’s aim was not territorial expansion, but the elimination of terror networks responsible for cross-border violence. “Our mission was to dismantle terror hubs in Pakistan and ensure justice for the victims of Pahalgam,” he said.

Singh disclosed that in a precisely coordinated 22-minute mission, the Indian Army, Air Force, and intelligence agencies jointly destroyed nine terror camps, killing over 100 militants and their handlers. He highlighted the multi-pronged strategy involving aerial strikes, ground maneuvers, and naval pressure, which compelled Pakistan to retreat.

“The force of our response sent a clear message,” Singh concluded. “India will not tolerate terrorism—any future misadventure will be met with stronger resolve.”
