Srinagar, Jan 16: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast generally stable weather conditions across Jammu and Kashmir till January 21, with only light snowfall expected at scattered places during January 16 and again between January 19 and 20.
According to the latest weather update issued by the MeT Department, no significant weather activity is anticipated over the next few days, providing temporary relief to residents, especially in higher reaches that have witnessed recent cold conditions.
However, a change in weather is likely from January 22 to 24, during which light to moderate rain and snowfall is expected at most places across the Union Territory. The department has also cautioned about the possibility of heavy rain or snowfall at isolated locations, particularly in the Pir Panjal range, Chenab Valley, and parts of South Kashmir.
The MeT has advised residents, travelers, and authorities to remain alert, especially in vulnerable areas, as fresh snowfall could impact road connectivity and daily life in mountainous regions.
Further updates will be issued as the weather system approaches.
