Jammu, Aug 4: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday attended the convocation ceremony at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Jammu, where he delivered the keynote address.
In his speech, the LG emphasized the need to strengthen the ecosystem of innovation and modern technology in agriculture to ensure sustainable practices. He stressed the importance of enhancing farmer incomes, improving risk mitigation strategies, and building robust linkages between farmers and industry.
Highlighting the role of women in agriculture, LG Sinha noted that Nari Shakti is making a significant impact in driving innovation and improving productivity. He praised the contributions of women scientists in key areas such as climate-smart crops, pest management, biotechnology solutions, and organic farming, calling their efforts “invaluable” to the sector.
