SRINAGAR: Authorities in Leh on Friday eased restrictions in some areas following recent violence that left four people dead and dozens of security personnel injured. Curbs, however, remain in sensitive pockets under strict security vigil.Officials said normalcy is being gradually restored, with schools and colleges likely to reopen from Monday if peace prevails. Restrictions will be lifted in phases once confidence is fully restored.Police have so far arrested more than 50 people, including individuals from Nepal and Jammu’s Doda district, in connection with the unrest that saw mobs torch vehicles, attack offices, and clash with security forces. Investigators are probing possible external involvement in the violence.Markets in Kargil have also reopened as the situation continues to remain tense but under control.
