Punjab: The Kartarpur Corridor continues to remain operational for Indian pilgrims traveling to the revered Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara in Pakistan, even as the Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Attari on the India-Pakistan border in Amritsar has been temporarily closed following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

Despite heightened security concerns and cross-border tensions, devotees continue to visit Kartarpur Sahib, reaffirming their faith and resilience. Speaking to reporters, one pilgrim said, “What happened (terror attack) was really wrong. I am going to the Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara to pay obeisance. They (terrorists) targeted the Hindu brothers to spread hatred. Once the terrorists are held, everything will become clear.”

The Kartarpur Corridor, inaugurated in 2019, serves as a vital spiritual route for Sikh devotees to visit the final resting place of Guru Nanak Dev Ji without requiring a visa. Authorities have assured that all necessary security arrangements are in place to ensure the safety of the pilgrims using the corridor.

Meanwhile, investigations into the Pahalgam terror incident are ongoing, with security agencies tightening surveillance and border monitoring across vulnerable points.
